One of the advantages of the short winter days in the north is, that you don't have to get up early to photograph a sunrise. On the particular day when I shot this panorama, the sun came up as late as 11.03h. This photo is taken almost an hour earlier. The image shows a view over Thingvallavatn.

When I was out for taking photos of the night sky above Iceland a few days ago, I wasn't to happy about the appearance of northern lights. These are much brighter than many stars, so they disturb sky photography. I did an few shots of both together and the stars came out surprisingly good.

Fall is approaching very fast in Iceland. This means more storm and rain. But if it comes mixed with some sunlight, you get very nice light situations.

Panorama of the latest volcano here in Iceland - Eyjafjallajökull. It started his eruption on 21. of march and has been active since then. This panorama was taken on a superjeep tour to the volcano.
